Kyle E. Epps III

Attorney Kyle E. Epps III

Mr. Epps is a Georgia native, who worked fourteen years in law enforcement, while also attending law school full-time. While in law enforcement Mr. Epps was involved with thousands of criminal cases as well as several hundred DUI cases. As an instructor at the police academy, he trained hundreds of officers. He was also a member of the SWAT team and later a founding member of the Cobb County Gang Unit.

Mr. Epps worked at the Forsyth County Solicitors Office prosecuting misdemeanor criminal cases. Admitted to the Georgia Bar in 1996, he became a member of the United State District Court for the 11th Circuit. Mr. Epps opened his own practice in 2002, creating The Law Offices of Epps & Pilgrim in 2007 with two partners, Phil Pilgrim and Amy Carter. In order to provide the best customer service available the firm now consists of six in-house attorneys. Mr. Epps is active in the Forsyth County Juvenile Court, and served as Judge Pro Tempore when requested by the Chief Judge.

Mr. Epps is passionate about the practice they have built upon a foundation of accomplishments they have earned. He attributes earned achievements to his entire adult life being spent in the criminal justice system, his trials as a prosecutor and the talent he has attracted to work with him. The practice is built with a focus on client goals with strict guidelines to operate in a professional efficient business environment.

Mr. Epps attended Georgia State University on a Golf Scholarship, he promotes golf among his favorite things to do on the weekend. He is an active supporter of several high school sports teams and loves football at both high school and college levels. Mr. Epps has committed his firm to be a consistent donor to St. Jude Hospital.

Philip Paul Pilgrim, Jr.

Phil Pilgrim graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice. He attended Georgia State University College of Law where he earned his Juris Doctorate.

During law school, Phil clerked for Judge Steve Jones of the Western Judicial Circuit, worked as a prosecutor under the 3rd Year Practice Act for the Forsyth County Solicitor General’s Office and the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office. During his time as a prosecutor, Phil tried dozens of jury trials and spent 75% of his time in court. He obtained the position of Senior Assistant Solicitor General and was the Assistant Solicitor on the Forsyth County DUI Court, prosecuting numerous DUI cases. Phil joined the Law Office of Kyle Epps in October of 2007.

A partner in the Law Offices of Epps & Pilgrim, Phil is charged with primarily managing the firm’s criminal cases along with being a member on all teams for trial work the Firm undertakes. He has an extremely successful trial record and consistently exceeds the expectations of our clients with integrity and professionalism. Obtaining the client’s goals is always a source of pride for Mr. Pilgrim. He is no stranger to a courtroom; Mr. Pilgrim is willing to offer guidance on your case, criminal or civil.

In his spare time, Phil enjoys spending time with his family and friends. Recreationally he is very active, an avid runner and very proficient on the golf course.

Amy Marie Carter

Amy Carter was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. She headed out west and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from the University of California. She attended California Western School of Law in San Diego, California where she earned her Juris Doctor.

During law school, Amy worked under the 3rd Year Practice Act for the San Diego Public Defender’s Office, where she successfully tried and won three jury trials prior to graduating. Following law school, Amy joined a firm in California that moved her to Las Vegas, NV. Amy has experience working in the civil arena as well as the criminal arena. During her time in Las Vegas, Amy specifically gained experience in handling insurance defense cases for large insurance companies. Amy also worked for the Clark County District Attorney’s Office. She tried over many felony jury trials while at the District Attorney’s office, including cases involving murder, robbery, and aggravated battery. After moving back to Georgia, Amy began working for the Jackson County District Attorney’s office where she was the Special Victims Prosecutor. Amy was in charge of prosecuting all the cases involving child and adult sexual abuse. Amy joined our firm in October 2009.

Amy handles our personal injury cases as well as criminal defense cases involving special victim’s issues. She is very effective in these cases due to her experience as a defense attorney for insurance companies. She is also able to put together the cases for trial due to her evidence and trial skills she develped prosecuting high profile crimes.

Amy and her husband reside in Buford, Georgia. They have two children that keep them very busy. In her spare time, Amy enjoys going to Lake Lanier and spending time with friends and family.

Jacob Charles Stidham

Attorney Jacob Stidham

Jacob Stidham graduated from Birmingham Southern College with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology. While there he was admitted to both Psi Chi and Phi Alpha Theta honor societies. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Texas Tech University. Jacob also participated in numerous trial advocacy training programs to prepare him for the rigors of going to court and conducting trials.

While in Texas Jacob spent two years working in a criminal defense firm, gaining invaluable trial experience in the biggest cases that he now applies as for his clients in Georgia as a member of the Georgia State Bar. Jacob brings a strong work ethic to the firm, fights aggressively for his client’s rights. He is more than willing to take a case to trial if that is the best way to secure those rights. Jacob's specializes in criminal cases including jury trials.

When he is not in the office Jacob enjoys most any outdoor sports and spending time with his family.
